WySync Fitment Documentation

Everything you need to get started and get the most out of WySync Fitment.

Getting Started

WySync Fitment turns any Shopify wheel & tire store into a vehicle-first shopping experience. Shoppers pick their year, make, model, and submodel once; the app then filters collections to what fits, verifies fitment on product and cart pages, and stamps the vehicle onto the order. It's built for wheel & tire retailers, but works for any store that sells vehicle-specific parts.

Quick start: Install the app, upload a fitment CSV (or start with fits_ product tags), add the widgets from your theme editor, and your storefront is vehicle-aware — usually within an hour, most of which is the first catalog index.

Installation

  1. Request early access (the app is finishing Shopify App Store review) — we'll send an install link; then click Install
  2. Approve the requested permissions
  3. The app opens inside your Shopify admin and runs the first full catalog index
  4. Add the storefront widgets from your Shopify theme editor (the app's Widgets page shows live install status and deep links to the right spot in the editor)

Storefront Widgets

Eight storefront surfaces ship with the app. All of them are theme app extension blocks — you add them in the Shopify theme editor and customize colors, labels, and layout there. No code edits, no theme surgery.

The vehicle and fitment status are written to cart lines as line item properties, so they carry through to the Shopify order — your team sees exactly which vehicle each item was bought for.

Fitment Data Sources

A product fits a vehicle if any connected source confirms it — sources merge, with no precedence rules to manage.

WySync Data add-on: stores on the optional WySync fitment data subscription get access to WySync's curated wheel & tire fitment database for spec-based fitment verification — no CSV maintenance required. Learn more at wysync.com.

Indexing

Your product catalog is indexed from Shopify into a dedicated, isolated search index for your store — that's what makes collection pages and filters fast. Your product data is never stored in the WySync database; Shopify remains the source of truth.

The Indexing page in the app admin shows job history, product counts, and per-product diagnostics for anything that couldn't be indexed.

Billing

Pricing subject to change at launch. Billed through Shopify.

FAQ

Does it work with my theme?

Yes — the widgets are Shopify theme app extension blocks, so they work with any Online Store 2.0 theme and inherit your theme's look. You place and customize them in the theme editor.

Where does my product data live?

In your Shopify store. WySync Fitment indexes it into an isolated per-store search index to power the storefront widgets, and never stores your catalog in its own database. Uninstalling deletes the index.

What happens to products without fitment data?

You choose: show them as "universal fit", show a "no fitment data" notice, or hide them from vehicle-filtered results entirely. You can also restrict the index to products that have fitment data.

Can shoppers save more than one vehicle?

Yes — the Garage widget stores multiple vehicles in the shopper's browser, and they can switch the active vehicle from the garage or the persistent bar at any time.

Do I have to build my fitment data from scratch?

No. Start with product tags or a single CSV, connect a vendor feed, or use the optional WySync data subscription for curated wheel & tire fitment data.
